Abstract

Many low- and middle-income countries continue to seek ways on how to better understand and obtain actionable insights on Big Data for health. The “2nd Big Data for Health workshops and conference for the Asia-Pacific” aims to promote a collaborative research environment by bringing together academics, policy-makers, innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry to discuss strategies and approaches to making health data work for improving health service delivery and health systems.

The University of the Philippines, MIT Critical Data, Stanford University, and the Asia eHealth Information Network have once again partnered to bring to the Philippines a renowned team of international experts on artificial intelligence in medicine, machine learning, data mining, data analytics, and technopreneurship to share the state-of-the-art in health data science.

PhD student Cátia Salgado gave a hands-on workshop on machine learning with python using the MIMIC III database.
